Agreement
By using the Lakeside Creative Labs website (lakesidecreativelabs.com) or engaging our services, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's okay -- just don't use the site or hire us.
These terms apply to all visitors, clients, and anyone who interacts with our website or services. "We," "us," and "our" refer to Great Lakes Creative Labs (doing business as Lakeside Creative Labs). "You" refers to you.
What We Do
Lakeside Creative Labs provides social media management, website design, SEO, and brand identity services for small businesses, primarily in Macomb County, Michigan. Our services include but are not limited to:
- Social media content creation, scheduling, and management
- Google Business Profile management and optimization
- Website design and development
- Search engine optimization
- Brand identity and creative strategy
- Free business audits and consultations
Specific deliverables, timelines, and scope are agreed upon before any paid work begins.
Pricing and Payment
Month-to-month
All of our service plans are month-to-month. There are no long-term contracts or lock-in periods. You can cancel at any time -- we'd rather earn your business every month than trap you in a contract.
Payment terms
- Payment is due at the beginning of each service month.
- We accept standard payment methods and will confirm accepted forms at the time of engagement.
- Prices may change with 30 days' written notice. Any price change applies to the next billing cycle, not the current one.
Cancellation
You can cancel your service at any time by emailing info@lakesidecreativelabs.com or calling (313) 312-4337. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period. We don't prorate refunds for partial months, but we'll finish out any work committed for the period you've already paid for.
Free audits
Our free audit is genuinely free. No credit card required, no obligation, no hidden charges. We create sample content for your business so you can see what working with us looks like before you spend a dollar.
Intellectual Property
Content we create for you
Once you've paid for a service period, the content we create during that period is yours. Social media posts, graphics, website copy, brand assets -- if you paid for it, you own it. You're free to use it however you want, even if you stop working with us.
Free audit content
Sample content created during a free audit remains our property until you become a paying client. Once you sign up for a paid plan, any audit content used in your service becomes yours.
Our tools and templates
We use internal tools, templates, processes, and methodologies to create your content. Those remain ours. You're getting the output, not the system behind it. This is standard for any creative agency.
Your existing materials
Anything you provide to us -- logos, photos, brand guidelines, copy -- remains yours. We'll only use your materials to deliver the services you've hired us for. We won't use your branding, likeness, or content for our own marketing without your permission.
Your Responsibilities
For us to do good work, we need a few things from you:
- Timely feedback -- when we send content for review, we need your approval or edits within a reasonable timeframe (typically 48 hours) to stay on schedule.
- Accurate information -- business hours, pricing, service descriptions, and other facts need to be correct. We'll write the content, but we rely on you for the truth.
- Account access -- if we're managing your social media or Google Business Profile, we need the appropriate access. We'll never ask for your personal passwords -- we use platform-native business access tools.
- Legal compliance -- you're responsible for ensuring your business, products, and services comply with applicable laws. We create marketing content in good faith based on what you tell us.
Limitation of Liability
We take our work seriously and stand behind it. That said, here are the legal realities:
- We're a social media management agency, not a law firm, accounting firm, or business consultant. Our services are marketing services.
- We can't guarantee specific results from social media, SEO, or any marketing effort. Anyone who guarantees "X followers in Y days" is lying. We focus on consistent, quality work that builds your presence over time.
- Our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
- We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages -- including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption -- arising from our services or your use of our website.
- We're not responsible for changes to third-party platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Google, etc.) that affect your content, reach, or account status. Platform rules change constantly, and that's outside our control.
Website Use
When using our website, you agree not to:
- Use it for anything illegal or harmful.
- Attempt to access areas or systems you're not authorized to use.
- Submit false information through our forms.
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content from our site.
Our website is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it accurate and running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access or that everything on the site is error-free at all times.
Indemnification
You agree to hold us harmless from claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our website, your breach of these terms, or content/information you provide to us that turns out to be inaccurate, misleading, or infringing on someone else's rights.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Macomb County, Michigan. We'd much prefer to resolve things with a phone call, but if it comes to it, that's the jurisdiction.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. For active clients, we'll provide direct notice of any material changes at least 30 days before they take effect.
