Lakeside Creative Labs (legal name: Great Lakes Creative Labs) is a social media management agency based in Macomb County, Michigan. We help small businesses get found online through social media management, website design, SEO, and brand identity services.

What Data We Collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. Here's what we gather and why:
Information you give us directly
- Contact form submissions -- your name, email address, phone number, business name, and any message you include.
- Brand interview responses -- information about your business that helps us create your free audit.
- Email correspondence -- anything you send us via email.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data -- pages visited, time on site, referral source, general geographic location (city-level), device type, and browser. We use Google Analytics for this.
- Cookies -- small files stored by your browser. We use these for analytics and basic site functionality. No advertising cookies.
- Server logs -- your IP address, browser type, and pages requested. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) collects these as part of normal web hosting.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide our services -- when you fill out a contact form or brand interview, we use that information to prepare your audit, communicate with you, and deliver the work you've hired us for.
- To communicate with you -- responding to inquiries, sending project updates, and following up on conversations you've started with us.
- To improve our website -- analytics data helps us understand which pages are useful and where people get stuck.
- To protect our website -- server logs and Cloudflare's security features help us prevent abuse and keep the site running.
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with data brokers. We don't use it for targeted advertising. We're a small local agency -- we use your information to do the work you asked us to do, and that's it.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of third-party services that may process some of your data:
- Google Analytics -- website traffic analysis. Google's privacy policy applies to data they collect. You can opt out using Google's browser plugin.
- Cloudflare -- website hosting, CDN, and security. Cloudflare processes server requests and provides DDoS protection.
- Google Fonts -- web fonts loaded from Google's servers. Google may log font requests.
Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We've chosen services that we trust and that are widely used across the web.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies for:
- Analytics -- Google Analytics cookies that help us understand how people use our site. These are anonymous and don't personally identify you.
- Security -- Cloudflare may set cookies to identify trusted traffic and prevent abuse.
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels from ad networks, or any social media tracking scripts. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though some site features may not work as expected.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as it's useful for the purpose it was collected:
- Contact form submissions and emails -- retained for the duration of our business relationship and a reasonable period afterward in case you come back.
- Client project files -- retained for the duration of our engagement plus 12 months, unless you request deletion sooner.
- Analytics data -- retained according to Google Analytics' default settings (26 months).
- Server logs -- retained by Cloudflare according to their data retention policies.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data -- ask us what information we have about you.
- Correct your data -- let us know if something's wrong and we'll fix it.
- Delete your data -- ask us to remove your information from our systems. We'll comply unless we have a legal obligation to keep it.
- Opt out of analytics -- use Google's opt-out plugin or disable cookies in your browser.

Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

If we make meaningful changes to this privacy policy, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify affected individuals directly.
